Shotgun Messiah Second Coming RARE
Average Rating: (0) (0) Messiah's Most Straightforward Release Still Rocks Ah.1991, out with the old and in with the new was sweeping across the rock landscape with the likes of Jane's Addiction, Faith No More and some band out of Seattle effectively putting the dagger through the hearts of bands like Slaughter, Firehouse and the like. The shift in public taste killed the major label careers of some truly great ROCK bands (Enuff Z'Nuff, King's X, and the criminally underrated Saigon Kick to name a few). Heroes Of Newerth. Shotgun Messiah saw the writing on the wall and would turn to an industrial-metal sound on their future release (1993's great 'Violent New Breed')but only after releasing this straightfoward hard rock near-classic.

The band cranks out an almost perfect hard rock/heavy metal album with focused songs and fiery playing (in particular Harry Cody's excellent guitar work)In fact the only thing keeping this from a five-star review is the abundance of cliches (intentional I'm sure)and some less-than-stellar songs near the backend.otherwise if you rejoice in the music of the glam metal era, this is essential. Highlights include the rock radio hit 'Heartbreak Blvd', 'I Want More', 'Nobody's Home' and the ballads 'Ride The Storm' and 'Living Without You' By (Moberly, Mo, USA) (0) (0) Great Rock Album This is one of the best rock albums by one of the most underrated bands. Shotgun's 1st album was glam. This one is just plain good r'n'r. Harry Cody is extremely talented on guitar and Tim Skold's vocals are ripping. A must own if you grew up in the LA metal scene.

The songs I do like, though, I really like.
