Counts As armies are kind of my standard when it comes to armies. So I'm using the Hybrid Gen 3/4 guys (with Autoguns) as my standard Guardsmen troopers, Hybrid Gen 1/2 as Veterans with shotguns (I filed down and converted Cadian lasguns to look more like shotguns), then using standard IG Vehicles and stuff.

It's all about kit bashing (mixing maybe heads from this box with torsos from this box and arms from another) to make the army look how you imagine but still making it coherent to your opponent. It's easy enough to see the difference between the veterans and standard line troopers, but the difficulty comes in when you have things like Platoon Command Squads. I like to add extra trim (usually gold) to help them stand out.
